Broad River Retail proudly welcomed more than 350 Memory Makers to Sleep Connection 2024 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord. From May 7 to May 9, we connected our Memory Makers with our premier partners for an immersive experience focused on sleep products.
Memory Makers attended informational sessions with representatives of leading brands such as Ashley Sleep, Bedgear, Purple, and Tempur Sealy, where gained insights into the latest sleep products and information. Attendees had the firsthand opportunity to test products, learn about the benefits of various features and technology, connect with colleagues from various locations, and win the featured products.
“We could do this in a store, but I just don’t think it’d have the same effect”, said Charlie Malouf, Broad River Retail President and CEO. “We see some magic happen when we bring people together in big groups and cross-pollinate different stores and teams together. “We can learn and interact together outside of the store.”
In between informational sessions, Memory Makers had a chance to participate in interactive workshops and test new products before they hit the showroom floor. Attendees were especially excited to try and learn more about the new TEMPUR-ActiveBreeze®.
“We’re getting to learn about the materials of the different mattresses and the things that they do,” said Brian Fuller of the Wilson Warriors. “We get these trainings often to make sure everyone in the company knows exactly what’s going on and it allows everyone to grow at their own pace.”
To conclude each day, Memory Makers participated in giveaways to win some of the products featured by guest vendors. More than 15 mattresses and over 20 pillows, protectors, and sheet sets were awarded to lucky raffle ticket holders.
Attendees also had the exclusive opportunity to enjoy a special perk offered by the event’s venue: a thrilling ride along the speedway with a professional driver.
While Sleep Connection 2024 offered a plethora of engaging activities and networking opportunities, the focal point for many attendees was the chance to interact with industry experts.
“What I liked the most about today’s event was the ability to network with some of the best in the industry: our partners and all the people from the other stores. Just real winners that I can learn something from to take into my store back home,” said Jaylon Fisher of the Albemarle Aces.
Along with the day’s scheduled activities, Memory Makers were asked to make contributions to Beds For Kids, a non-profit furniture bank based in Charlotte, NC focused on providing beds and essential furniture to families in need. Throughout the three-day event, more than 200 sheets and blankets were gathered.
